Privacy Policy
RANIA Academy is a business name of Neural Networks Group Pty Ltd (ACN 691 933 632, ABN 53 691 933 632). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Effective date: 24 September 2026.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers raniadigital.academy and the RANIA Academy learning app at app.raniadigital.academy. It explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can access, correct or complain about it.
2. What we collect
When you enquire or enrol: your name, email address, phone number, employer or organisation where you give it, the course you are interested in, and anything else you type into an enquiry or booking form.
When you create a learner account: your name, email address and password (stored hashed, never in readable form).
As you learn: which courses you start and complete, your progress through lessons, quiz or assessment responses where a course has them, and the date a certificate is issued.
When you pay: payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation, the amount, the date and the last four digits of the card. We never see or store your full card number.
If you apply for a job with us: your CV and anything in it, plus your application correspondence.
Automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you move through them. See section 7.
We do not deliberately collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act. Please do not include health, criminal record or other sensitive details in a form unless we have asked for them and explained why.
3. Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry; to enrol you and deliver the course; to give you access to the learning platform; to issue and verify certificates; to take payment; to send you information about the course you booked; to improve our courses and website; to meet our legal and tax obligations; and, where you have opted in, to send you marketing.
You can opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. That will not stop the messages we must send about a course you have booked.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
Stripe — payment processing. Stripe is a payment provider operating internationally; its own privacy terms apply to the card details you give it directly.
Our trainers — the attendance list for a course you are enrolled in.
Your employer — if your employer books and pays for your place, we tell them whether you attended and completed. We do not share your assessment answers with them unless you agree.
Our hosting, email and analytics providers — see section 7.
Anyone we are required to disclose to by law.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of the services in section 7 are operated by companies based overseas, including in the United States, and personal information handled by them may be stored or processed outside Australia. Before disclosing your information to an overseas recipient we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, as APP 8 requires.
The overseas recipients are Google LLC (Google Analytics), Microsoft Corporation (Clarity), Automattic Inc. (Jetpack) and AddToAny, which provides our sharing buttons — all United States companies — and Stripe, Inc., which processes course payments. Each of them runs infrastructure in more than one country, so your information is likely to be stored or processed in the United States and may be processed in other countries where those companies operate. If you want to know where a particular provider handled your information, ask us and we will find out and tell you.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an enrolment: up to 24 months.
Enrolment, attendance and certificate records: 7 years, so we can verify a certificate if you or an employer asks.
Financial records: 5 years, as tax law requires.
Job applications: 12 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Learner accounts: while the account is active, and for 12 months after you close it.
When we no longer need information we destroy it or de-identify it.
7. Cookies, analytics and tracking
The following run on our website and set cookies or similar identifiers:
Google Analytics 4 (via MonsterInsights) — measures how many people visit, which pages they read and where they came from.
Microsoft Clarity — records how visitors interact with pages, including clicks and scrolling, so we can see where a page is confusing. Recordings are not anonymous, though Clarity masks text typed into form fields by default.
Jetpack Stats — basic traffic statistics.
AddToAny — the social sharing buttons.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop the learning platform working.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and hashed passwords, and we limit access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
9. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email [email protected].
There is no charge for making a request. Where we give you access we may charge a reasonable fee that is not excessive to cover the cost of doing so, and we will tell you before we do. Correction is always free.
We will respond within 30 days. If we refuse, we will tell you why and how to complain.
10. Anonymity
You can ask us a general question without giving your name. We cannot enrol you, issue a certificate or take payment anonymously.
11. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email [email protected] with the details. We will acknowledge within 5 business days and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au, or 1300 363 992.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we handle information we already hold about you, we will tell you.
